Hello, I am Noah

I'm a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Moving to Netherlands wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.

The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed tougher than they ought to be.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning on the fly. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.

Why I Built Orchard Lane Hub

Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family perspective.

This site aims to fill that gap with practical guidance grounded in real life in Netherlands.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site is:

  • Hands-on experience from living in Netherlands
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated when something truly changes

This site isn't:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • A platform for sponsored reviews
  • A generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Netherlands continues, and the learning process goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.

If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, please feel free to get in touch.

Best wishes,

Noah
